Had the craziest dream last night.
In my dream, my favorite midwife from Casa was visiting me here with her girls. We were having a great time. For some reason, they wanted to go shopping in Emeryville and I told them the story about how the shopping center there was built on top of an Ohlone burial ground. According to some of the workers, weird things have happened there ever since. Lots of people have said it should never have been built, since building on top of the graves of ancestors is a huge no-no.
In my dream, I never did find out if we went shopping there or not.
Anyway, so I was thinking about this midwife all night long, and for no apparent reason. This morning, I get up and check Facebook. Turns out she was battling a kidney infection and a nasty fever all night long. Guess I must have channelled her somehow. Fortunately, it sounds like she's doing better now.
And then, Louis checked a popular blog about San Leandro. Mostly it's about political stuff, so he was interested in reading what the latest info is about all the current races. Here is today's blog post:
HUMAN REMAINS UNCOVERED AT SITE OF NEW KAISER HOSPITAL
San Leandro Police were called to the site of the new Kaiser Hospital in San Leandro this morning after "workers discovered a human skull and bones approximately 11ft under a slab of cement."
The Coroner's Office was called and stated that the remains are likely from the Ohlone Tribe, a group of Native Americans that lived in the area. According to the police report, the California Native American Heritage Commission will take over the investigation.
No freaking way. How weird is that?
I'm totally bummed about this because I REALLY want the Kaiser hospital in San Leandro. If they discover an ancient burial ground, though, I don't know. Guess we'll have to wait and see.
