Passports

We went down to the post office in Alameda today, because their passport office is the only one around here that is open on Saturdays. Because I'm a bit paranoid, we decided to get Olivia a passport and figured we may as well renew Louis' expired one, too.

There were 8 people ahead of us in line and each person was taking at least 20 minutes to finish. I sent Louis and Olivia off to play on the beach while I waited in line.

Curiously enough, as soon as the office closed at noon, each person started taking 5 minutes to process. When we were next, I called Louis and Olivia back in. The guy didn't look at any of our papelitos and just asked for our applications and checks. So much for homeland security.

Hopefully it will all work out okay for us.

And hopefully that baby didn't actually have whooping cough in that small, unventilated room, even though it sure sounded like it.
